  • NASAR Introduction to Search and Rescue (ISAR)  --With 2015 ASTM proposed basic field skills

                  16 hours course PLUS online pre-classroom study

  • NASAR Search and Rescue Fundamentals -- FUNSAR  (47 hours)
  • ​​NASAR Advanced Search and Rescue -- ADSAR  (32  hours)

  • NASAR Search and Rescue Technician Certification Level 3  (Urban Field Operational)

  • NASAR Search and Rescue Technician Certification Level 2  (​Rural - Wilderness Operational)

  • NASAR Search and Rescue Technician Certification Level 1​  (Expanded Skills / Field Team Leader)

  • NASAR Equine SAR-Tech 3 Certification Evaluation

  • Managing the Lost Person Incident -- MLPI  (32 hours)

  • Urban Search Management -- (8 hours) 

  • ARRL Amateur Radio Operator - Technician Class  (8 hours) 

  • ​​​Introduction to Search Management in the Urban Environment ​(8 hours)

                A First Response course recommended as a pre-cursor to the NASAR SAR management courses

** All courses are subject to minimum / maximum student attendance.  Costs vary based on class supplies and instructor expenses.  Certification fees and student text / study materials are extra.  Some courses may require state coordination.

SAR-Tech Certification in Montana

First Response does more than search and rescue.  The second part of our mission is to provide educational services to the general public, fellow searchers, and other search teams. Through our strong affiliation with the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR), we have trained and certified hundreds of searchers over the past 25 years from all parts of the United States.
